HUNTERS VIEW
SAN FRANCISCO
Daniel Solomon and his partners master planned the new Hunters View neighborhood to replace San Francisco's most distressed public housing and served as architects for Block 4, the largest parcel of the first phase. The plan implements principles of San Francisco urbanism at the scale of a new district. Formerly isolated and segregated residents of Hunters View are now part of a vibrant mixed-income San Francisco neighborhood. On Block 4, a delicately scaled, stepping building creates walkable streets and secure mid-block courtyards. A community room opens onto a new public park with expansive views of downtown, connecting this once-isolated neighborhood with the rest of the city.
